Finger Joint Router Bits for incredibly strong butt joints

Finger joints are the strongest method of butt jointing when using a router bit to cut the profile. Finger joints are used in many structural jointing applications where strength is of the greatest importance. The tapered fingers interlock and create a strong joint by increasing the gluing surface area - up to 10 times over a standard butt joint!

The tapered profile makes it simpler and easier to assemble the work pieces when gluing.

A very neat way of

A very neat way of turning scrap timber into useful lengths, I had a length of timber that was just too short, rather than buy another length, I used the Torquata Finger Joint router bit to add a short length to each end. The join is neat and strong and once painted invisible. I saved some of the cost of this bit because I didn't need to buy another length. It was easy to use and adjust in the Sherwood router lift I'd recommend this bit.
